Non-uniform Motion Deblurring for Camera Shakes

چکیده
This paper presents a novel blind motion deblurring algorithm for dealing with non-uniform motion blurs caused by camera shakes. Conventional motion deblurring algorithms assume the blur can be described by a uniform point spread function (PSF). However, this assumption is typically invalid in practice. We exploit a new representation of motion blurs which models the blur effects of camera shakes using a set of planar perspective projections (i.e., homographies). This representation can fully describe the motions of camera shakes in 3D world which cause non-uniform motion blurs. Our main contribution is the blind motion deblurring algorithm associated with this representation. We solve the ill-posed PSF estimation problem by transforming it into a well-posed image registration problem that estimates homographies. To improve the robustness and to resolve the initialization problem of our algorithm, we use multiple input images for deblurring. Our algorithm is experimented with both synthetic and real world examples, and produces superior deblurring results compared to the previous algorithms using a uniform PSF.

متن کاملRecording and Playback of Camera Shake: Benchmarking Blind Deconvolution with a Real-World Database
Motion blur due to camera shake is one of the predominant sources of degradation in handheld photography. Single image blind deconvolution (BD) or motion deblurring aims at restoring a sharp latent image from the blurred recorded picture without knowing the camera motion that took place during the exposure. BD is a long-standing problem, but has attracted much attention recently, cumulating in ...

where Kθ is the matrix that warps latent image L to the transformed copy at a sampled pose θ and S denotes the set of sampled camera poses. While these algorithms show promising results, they entail high computational cost as the high-dimensional camera motion space and the latent image have to be computed during the iterative optimization procedures. In this paper, we propose a fast single-ima...
متن کاملSingle Image Deblurring Using Motion Density Functions
We present a novel single image deblurring method to estimate spatially non-uniform blur that results from camera shake. We use existing spatially invariant deconvolution methods in a local and robust way to compute initial estimates of the latent image. The camera motion is represented as a Motion Density Function (MDF) which records the fraction of time spent in each discretized portion of th...
متن کاملVideo-based non-uniform object motion blur estimation and deblurring
Motion deblurring is a challenging problem in computer vision. Most previous blind deblurring approaches usually assume that the Point Spread Function (PSF) is spatially invariant. However, nonuniform motions exist ubiquitously and cannot be handled successfully. In this paper, we present an automatic method for object motion deblurring based on non-uniform motion information from video. betwee...
